What is a Skills Assessment?

Skills Assessment is a process in which an organisation authorised by the Australian Government evaluates your qualifications and work experience. If they consider that you have the necessary work experience and acceptable qualifications, they issue a certificate that you need for further process of applying for a work visa for Australia.


When is a Skills Assessment done?

Skills Assessment is a step in the process of applying for a work visa for Australia based on your qualifications.

The Skills Assessment is required for several types of work visas such as:

  1. Employer Nomination Scheme visa Subclass 186 – Direct Entry Stream
  2. Skilled Independent visa Subclass 189
  3. Skilled Nominated visa Subclass 190
  4. Temporary Graduate visa 485 – Graduate Stream
  5. Skilled Regional (Provisional) visa Subclass 489
