Global Talent Scheme for Australia is a new visa program launched by the Australian Government in November 2019 also known as Global Talent Independent Program.
It gives priority to candidates from several prioritised industry sectors.
If the applicant successfully passes the initial stage (Expression of interest), he/she can get the visa invitation.

Prioritised industry sectors for Global Talent Scheme for Australia
There are several industry sectors targeted that are considered to be the priority sectors for the Global Talent Independent Program.
- Resources,
- Agri-food and AgTech,
- Energy,
- Health Industries,
- Defence, Advanced Manufacturing and Space,
- Circular Economy,
- DigiTech,
- Infrastructure and Tourism,
- Financial Services and FinTech, and
- Education.
Salary for Global Talent Program Scheme for Australia Candidates
Candidates are expected to be able to earn incomes at or above the level of AUD$ 153,600 which is set annually every 1 July.
In the process of evaluating whether a candidate can meet the salary requirement of Global Talent Independent Program, the following requirements are considered:
- Current earnings through contracts or payslips,
- Future job offers that provide at least the minimum amount indicated, or
- Grades in recent Master or PhD studies.
Nominator for Global Talent Scheme for Australia
When applying for a Global Talent Scheme for Australia, you must be supported by a nominator of a recognised reputation in the same industry as you within Australia.
The nominator has to confirm your outstanding achievements and explain what would be your contribution to Australian society, culture or economy.
The nominator must be an Australian citizen or must have a permanent residency in Australia or be an eligible New Zealand citizen. Optionally, your nominator can also be an Australian organisation.

Faster Procedure for obtaining a permanent residency in Australia
Under the Global Talent Scheme for Australia, selected candidates in the above mentioned prioritised industry sectors can go through a faster procedure for obtaining permanent residency in Australia.
